Sampler (Switzerland)

This is a Sampler. It is dated early 20th century and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is mercerized cotton embroidery, linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in withdrawn element and cut work in overcast and looping stitches, with satin stitch for numbers, on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
