Mending Sampler (Germany)

This is a Mending sampler. It is dated 1879 and we acquired it in 1981. Its medium is silk, cotton, wool and its technique is embroidered in cross, herringbone, threaded herringbone and overcasting stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.
