Candlestick (Netherlands)

This is a candlestick. It was made by Louwijs Victorsz and de Dobbelde Schenckan (the Double Jug Factory). It is dated 1688–1713 and we acquired it in 1986. Its medium is tin-glazed earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was bequest of Walter Phelps Warren. It is credited Bequest of Walter Phelps Warren.

Its dimensions are

H x W: 20 x 16cm (7 7/8 x 6 5/16in.)

It has the following markings

On underside in blue underglaze: "LVF [or LF] / 1 / Z / D-S" (for Louwijs Victorsz, or Fictor, owner of De Dobbelde Schenckan factory)
