Persephone Dinner Plate

This is a Dinner plate. It was designed by Eric Ravilious and manufactured by Wedgwood. It is dated ca. 1930–40 and we acquired it in 1991. Its medium is glazed porcelain. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Its dimensions are

2.4 x 25.7 cm (15/16 x 10 1/8 in.)

It has the following markings

On base, green underglaze: "PERSEPHONE / DESIGNED BY / RAVILIOUS. / WEDGWOOD / ETRURIA. ENGLAND" / stamped half "T"; in red overglaze: AnH9984 / A"; impressed: "WEDGWOOD 12WF3[0?]"; in black: "K"
