This is a vase. It was manufactured by Arnhem Faience Factory. It is dated 1910–1920 and we acquired it in 1992. Its medium is earthenware, enamel. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mr. Justin G. Schiller. It is credited Gift of Justin G. Schiller.

Round white porcelain plate with wavy brown-edged rim, painted with large plant and smaller insects. A central flower with long blade-shaped leaves and six small pink flowers drooping from the stem. Surrounding the flower, various insects. At one o'clock, a multicolored butterfly in red, yellow, teal, and purple; at four o'clock, a small oval-shaped blue beetle; at eight o'clock, a pink and red winged insect; at nine o'clock, a blue caterpillar crawling on a leaf of the plant; at ten o'clock, a small round pink beetle; at twelve o'clock, a blue and red fly.
