Sugar Bowl and Cover Bowl

This is a bowl. It was designed by Christian Johannes van der Hoef and manufactured by Amphora Factory. It is dated ca. 1908 and we acquired it in 1994. Its medium is earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

On underside of bowl: [1] "HOLLAND ∙ AMPHORA ∙” in a circle, stamped in black (factory mark). [2] "228-C-1", painted in black (probably inventory number). [3] the letters "HD" conjoined, painted in black (painter's mark).
