This is a teapot. It was designed by Christian Johannes van der Hoef and manufactured by Amphora Factory. It is dated ca. 1908 and we acquired it in 1994. Its medium is earthenware. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Mr. Justin G. Schiller. It is credited Gift of Justin G. Schiller.

It has the following markings

On underside of teapot: [1] "HOLLAND ∙ AMPHORA ∙” in a circle, stamped in black (factory mark). [2] "228-B-1", painted in black (probably inventory number). [3] the letters "HD" conjoined, painted in black (painter's mark).
