This is a Cup and saucer. It was manufactured by Sèvres Porcelain Manufactory. It is dated 1779 (cup), 1788 (saucer) and we acquired it in 1983. Its medium is porcelain, enamel, gilding. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

It is credited Museum purchase from Charles E. Sampson Memorial Fund.

It has the following markings

Underside of cup: interlaced "L"s / date letter "bb" (for 1779) / painter's mark of Vieillard / gilder's mark of Théodore. Underside of saucer: interlaced "L"s / date letter "kk" (for 1788) / unrecorded painter's mark "V".
