Sampler Fragment (England)

This is a Sampler fragment. It is dated ca. 1650 and we acquired it in 1984. Its medium is wool embroidery on linen foundation and its technique is embroidered in cross, eye, stem, double running and interlaced stitches on plain weave foundation. It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Anonymous gift from the Fraser/Martin Collection..
