Panel (England)

This is a Panel. It was designed by Bruce James Talbert. It is dated ca. 1870 and we acquired it in 1985. Its medium is cotton, linen, wool and its technique is 2 & 2 broken twill and 1\3 twill with complementary wefts (yellow linen, green wool and brown wool) and inner warps (red cotton). the inner warps float or interlace on the front. only the areas which are green are 1\3 twill. It is a part of the Textiles department.

It is credited Purchase: Au Panier Fleuri Fund.
