Decanter And Stopper (Sweden)

This is a decanter and stopper. It was manufactured by Orrefors Glassworks. We acquired it in 1985. Its medium is glass. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Table made of roughly carved wood. The top is made of a lighter color wood and is unevenly hewn in the front section. The top also has several dark marks in the form of knots and smudges. The top is held up by four legs of a darker colored wood, slightly angled out. Both front legs have prominent cracks.

Decorative bulb-shaped wine decanter with a round stopper. Its medium is blown crystal, faceted and relief, prismatically cut and polished. It has a round spout with a ripple on its neck. As it widens to its bulbous form, the prismatic cuts become vertical. Halfway through, it sharply widens, creating a thin slanting rim on the sides.
