This silver bowl is monchrome with a thin yet wide unpolished body sitting juxtaposed on shiny, intricately designed feet. The bottom part of the feet support the bowl flat, inwardly curling tendrils and attach to longer, decorative piece with curling tendril motif. The longer portion of the leg hugs the bowls body in a slender arc, and then transitions into intricate animal form. The top of the decorative leg is a realistic bird's neck and head that creates two gentle arcs where the leg meets the bowl's body. The swan-like neck tapers upward and in thickness, its open beak with realistic eye and simple feathers along the top and bottom. The top of the head has a feather stretching to a circular knob, nearly meeting the top edge of the bowl's body.

This is a Presentation Bowl. It was designed by Marie Zimmermann. It is dated 1925. Its medium is sterling silver.

Marie Zimmermann was among the most celebrated female artisans working in jewelry and metalwares in the 1920s. Her work often referenced ancient cultures. This bowl was given to William Weaver Heaton, longtime member of the Board of Governors of the New York Stock Exchange, on the occasion of his eightieth birthday in 1925.

It is credited Lent by The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Gift of Cecily E. Horton, 2014.814.

Gold necklace with a large pendant which features a large, oval, cabochon-cut sapphire. The blue gemstone is surrounded by sparkling green demantoid garnets and floral enamel decorative elements in greens and oranges. The sapphire is cut in a dome shape without any facets, featuring horizontal striations and depth of color. Surrounding the sapphire are basket-like decorative elements filled with colorful flowers in shades of red and orange. Underneath the oval stone are symmetrical swirls and a U shaped garnet arch anchored by two smaller faceted sapphires on each side of a floral burst of color. The pendant is attached to the necklace with a bale decorated with a graduated line of bright green demantoid garnets. The gold chain itself is of a stylized floral rope style.

Here we have a wide, deep blue-painted copper bowl. The blue color is slightly uneven giving the surface texture and slightly green oxidation showing through. With splayed out sides, it sits on top of a circular foot. The sides are stout and similar to an opening flower and overall are symmetrical in shape. In the center, a U-shaped petal sits between two elongated, pointed petals of the same height. The other side has the same design.
