Tabouret Stool Prototype

This is a Stool prototype. It was made by Patrick Naggar. It is dated 1986 and we acquired it in 2013. Its medium is painted, carved sycamore, enameled steel, aluminum. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

This object was donated by Irwin R. Berman and Linda Berman. It is credited The Linda and Irwin R. Berman Stool Collection.

A plastic white model of a purse with green rubber accents unmolded. The form of the mold begins with an uneven surface across the top then tapers out equally into straight sides into a level bottom. Patterns of overlapping chrysanthemum petals create a three dimensional texture for most of the surface ending with uneven petals. The balance of the surface is flat. The photograph captures the object against a light gray ground.
