Dekorationswut Ring

This is a ring. It was designed by Helen Britton. It is dated 2013 and we acquired it in 2016. Its medium is oxidized silver, swarovski chain, lacquer. It is a part of the Product Design and Decorative Arts department.

Part of Britton's Dekorationswut series (roughly translated as "decoration rage"), this ring is constructed with materials associated with costume jewelry. Britton states that "it is always challenging to give materials that are associated with...costume jewelry (chains, mirrors, plastics) a new life that references their history and celebrates popular culture, yet moves beyond the usual, to question our values...."
