Koechlin Baumgartner & Cie

The international printing and design company Koechlin Baumgartner & Cie. (KBC) was founded in 1753 by Peter Merian, a French businessman from Basel, and Johann Friedrich Küpfer. It was not until 1856, after a series of changes in the management and ownership, that the company settled on their current name. KBC became the leading textile printing plant in Europe during the post-war years (1945-1960) and they experienced significant expansion. Today KBC continues to excel as one of the leading textile manufacturers in Europe. They are known for their sense of tradition and also for their original designs and commitment to creativity, represent by the company slogan, “creativity for you.”
