Frömel-Fochler first attended the k. k. Fachschule für Kunststickerei (Technical School of Art Embroidery) in Vienna, and then studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule (School of Applied Arts) under Josef Hoffmann from 1904–08. She became a member of the Austrian Werkbund and worked for the Wiener Werkstätte between 1908–14 designing textiles and graphics. She designed textiles for other Viennese companies such as Haas Textilhandelsgesellschaft as well as fashion accessories and leatherwork. She worked later in Berlin and Munich as a fashion and textile designer for different firms. Literature: Wien um 1900. Kunst und Kultur, Wien 1985, 509.
