Manuscreens, Inc. was founded in the 1950s by Morton Jonap. Based in New York, Manuscreens was one of only a few companies that designed, produced, and sold their own wallcoverings.

This wallcovering sample book is spread open to show a pattern of large golden-yellow paisleys floating on a light beige ground. The teardrop-shaped paisleys are elaborated with leafy scrolls and filled with floral and leaf motifs. Some paisleys are more detailed, and outlined in dark golden yellow; others are lighter in color and less detailed. These lighter paisleys seem to recede into the background. Leafy scrolls in varying sizes fill in the spaces around the paisleys.
