Eszter Haraszty

Haraszty began working for Knoll after Hans Knoll looked at her portfolio. She worked under Marianne Strengell and in 1949 was named director of the Knoll textile department. Haraszty is best remembered as a colorist; she brought color to all her designs, mixing unprecedented combinations such as pink and orange. She designed for homes, textiles, stained glass and best known for her Iceland poppy motif; she went on to design for Victor Gruen Assoicates, IBM, and B. H. Wragge.
