Aleksandra Gaca was born in Poland, but re-located to The Netherlands at age twenty-two to study textile design at the Royal Institute for Fine Arts in The Hague. She has lived and worked in the Netherlands ever since, and her studio is currently located in Delft. Her innovative textile designs have earned many awards, including the Dutch Design Award, and have been included in numerous exhibitions at the TextielMuseum, Tilburg, the Netherlands, and Design Museum Holon, Israel, among many others.

Woven, vertically-rectangular textile. Textile is comprised of thin, horizontal strips of varying shades of green. At the top is a darker shade, below it a very light shade. After this light shade, the strips get progressively darker until the bottom of the textile, when the shade returns to the same dark shade as is on top.
